TEEN TALKING CIRCLE FACILITATOR'S TRAINING
Bainbridge
Island, WA.

Imagine being part of a circle, a safe space where you can tell the truth without fear of judgment, criticism, or rejection. A place where your heart softens and you feel accepted and accepting. A place where you feel free to share your feelings, work through conflicts, and experience that you are not alone. Now imagine that you are 16 years old and part of a circle like this. How might your life have been different? How might this change the world? NOW, how can you learn to facilitate this kind of experience for young people in your life, while working through issues you still carry from your own teen years?Come to a facilitator's training.

Join us for a special kind of training -- experiential. Take a look at what you carry from your own teen years that supports or gets in the way of how you work with teens. In this training you'll learn the how to's of facilitation through actually being in circle and doing the processes. Our comprehensive handbook, Speaking and Listening From the Heart will be your academic guide, and teens from our local circles will be onhand to answer questions and give advice. Learn the art and skills we use that keep young people coming back week after week.

"More than ever, I think what we're starved for is the truth. To hear the truth, and to have a safe place where we can speak the truth, and share our experience. This is crucial for all of us. It's especially crucial for girls, because girls, more than anyone else, are denied the truth of their experience, and are told and learn as they hit adolescence, that it's not safe to speak their truth and be who they are. So what could be more important than a safe space where we can really talk about the truth of our lives and our experience. I think it's profoundly important, and profoundly healing for us all." Sacred Circle Retreats:

WOMENS' SACRED CIRCLE RETREAT
March 31 - April 3, 2009
Yelapa, Mexico
Click here: Women's Sacred Circle Retreat

Imagine taking time off to be with yourself, to cherish yourself as a woman…Imagine doing this in the safety and embrace of a sacred circle -- laughing, sharing stories, realizations, understanding where each other is coming from. Imagine doing this while also having time to unwind, relax, and enjoy life in a small Mexican fishing village where the locals are welcoming and inclusive. A place where it’s common to say “hola” and folks living there help you along with your grasp of the language! A place where the hiking, swimming, yoga and bodywork are some of the best you’ll find in the world.

Linda and Genevieve will lead the circle in the use of practices that have been successful in Teen Talking Circles, skills such as Compassionate Listening (SM), used for conflict resolution and just plain good listening. We’ll talk about the issues we all face as women, humans, living in a world sorely in need of our unique gifts. We’ll create an unusual intimacy honed through trust, deep listening and connection. In this way, we will be doing the healing work that our beautiful planet so critically needs of us. Creating peace, tolerance, building bridges to understanding and acceptance of the other, stemming from the inside out.
